Thelma Jones Martin 89, of Roanoke Rapids, died at her home November 9, 2021, surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Martin was born in Brunswick County Va. The daughter of late Willie Marks Jones & Cecil Powell Jones. Thelma was also preceded in death by her husband Jim Martin, first husband Leon Taylor, Sister Florena “Sug” Thacker, Brother Willie Jones Jr., and Oscar Jones.
Jim and Thelma were the founders of Martins Exterminator Company were she also was the bookkeeper.
Thelma is survived by her daughter Deborah Lassiter and her husband Dennis, son Alvin Taylor and wife Wanda, son Norman Taylor and wife Dinah, a sister Peggy Branch, brothers, Pete Jones, and Tom Jones, along with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, November 11, 2021 at 10:00 A.M. at Cedarwood Cemetery with her Brother Pete Jones officiating.
